Steve Lafler

A few days ago, I got a comment from cartoonist Steve Lafler. Steve's work since the 1970s has been a big influence on my own work. His comic strip "Aluminum Foil" and the comic strip collection "Benb and Gerald", along with his comic book , "Mean Cat featuring Crazy Eddie", really opened my eyes to the unlimited possibilities of cartoon ideas. The only limitations you have are the ones you place on yourself. Above is a cover of the Fantagraphics Books edition of Steve's "Dog Boy #5". I wish I still had my issue of Mean Cat. It had a hand silksceened cover. It was lost many years ago, but I still have the t-shirt!It's threadbare and falling apart,so it's a Zencomix museum piece now...

I wish I still had my copy of "Benb and Gerald", but I gave it to my brother for safekeeping while I was living out of my truck a few years ago...here's a page out of Dog Boy #5. Enjoy...
