    R.I.P. Captain Beefheart. He had a profound influence on today's music. Not top 40 or any of that sh*t, but any kind of experimental music -- jazz, classical, progressive rock, punk, post-punk -- they were all heavily influenced by Don Van Vliet.

    A true genius.
