A Night At The Opera

I’m almost done with this comic, so here’s some scans instead of cellphone pics. This comic, A Night at The Opera, is about a lonely woman who briefly gets mixed up with a couple of sad sacks at the V.F.W.

India ink, crowquill, brush, and watercolor on 6 inch diameter discs of handmade paper, contained in an old popcorn tin.

The Beerfoot Servants

The Beerfoot Servants, india ink and watercolor on handmade paper contained in a cereal box that's been painted with exterior housepaint and decorated with an ink drawing.I’ll have these originals for sale next week at the Chicago Zine Fest. If you're in Chicago next weekend, drop by and say hello! I approach story telling/comic making in different ways, depending on the comic. Sometimes you know the beginning and the end, and you just figure out how to get there. This is a “just making shit up as I go along” comic. Sometimes you draw someone, and let them tell you what the story is, like “This guy looks like a roadie that would fall asleep at the wheel for 17 miles while dreaming about a roast beef sandwich.” I'm not sure where this is going next. At some point, somebody will remember what the guitarist looked like.
