Carnation Instant Nonfat Dry Karma

I just finished a 16 page mini comic, 5.5 inches x 8.5 inches , "Carnation Instant Nonfat Dry Karma". Here's the hand colored cover and the first 7 pages. It's a true story, except for the part about Melville's mom.
I finished After The Goldrush a few weeks ago. It's 24 full pages, 8.5 x 11 inches, 4 half pages, and a centerfold. Here's a couple of pages from After The Goldrush, with a detail of one of the pages. Thanks to Neil Young for the skeleton upon which this cartoon flesh hangs, and thanks to Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers for the left bass on Who Be Dat's "Dance on Fire" back in 1988. Every copy has a different centerfold, and as always, the inside covers are decorated with original art. Each order also comes with a "Special Secret Song Inside" bonus artwork. You folks who ordered The Last of The Decal Liquors know what I'm talking about!
So, here's the deal. Donate $11 to my Paypal account, and if for some strange reason that link doesn't work, there's a Paypal link button in the left sidebar. Send me an email to doogntoon at yahoo dot com, and tell me where you want the comix mailed, and I'll mail you a copy of "Carnation Instant Nonfat Dry Karma" and "After The Goldrush", along with all the bonus original artwork.

You can have my Psuedo Ephedrine when you pry it from my cold medication clutching hands

If you want to buy over the counter bullets cold medicine, the good stuff, you have to show an ID to the pharmacist, sign some paperwork, your name goes into a database, and you can only buy a certain limited quantity per month. Let's say that it's relatively well regulated, mucous free membranes being necessary for the sniffle free State.

They're Little! They're Yellow! They're Different!

Meanwhile, Mark Hoback skewered the "Let's arm everybody" crowd back in August after the Empire State Building Mass Shooting, remember that one?

Safe As Fukashima Milk

If I had a rocket launcher,
That's when I reach for my Revolver,
You say you want a revolution, Well
Every politician must grasp the truth,
Political power grows out of the barrel
 of a lobbyist's bum
But if you go carrying pictures of John Wayne Gacy LaPierre,
You can pry my lungs from the cold dead air
You may be a gun lover,
but you ain't no dancer

He's got blisters on his trigger finger

After The Goldrush

A couple of weeks ago, I finished a comic book, "After The Goldrush". I had that book kicking around in my brain for the past couple of years. I packaged it up with a bunch of other comix and sent it off with my CAKE application.

"After The Goldrush" is a true, personal story about the intersection of art, music, poetry, mental illness, and a gun. It's about the death of a friend.

But there's no good time to talk about mental illness and gun control, right? Fuck that shit, let's talk about it.

Joe Lieberman

Darkblack remembers what a dirtbag Joe Lieberman was and is, and I remember, too. Why does it hurt when you pee? Because Joe Lieberman is a Senatorally Transmitted Disease.

Lagniappe:Loads of linkage at Blckdgrd .Also, too, Neil Young

Zero Dark Thirty

Allegedly there's a movie out there called Zero Dark Thirty. I haven't seen it, so I don't know if it actually exists. Some people have claimed to have seen it. The movie allegedly was made with, according to one of the film makers, well, lets let her alleged words describe the process; "what we were attempting is almost a journalistic approach to film."

According to a guy who hasn't seen the alleged movie, there are people who have seen the movie, and they review the movie positively despite their claiming to have seen scenes of torture that claim to have been instrumental in capturing Osama Bi Laden, even though in real life, torture was allegedly not used, or it was used and did not provide crucial information in helping to capture bin laden.

Meanwhile, some people object to the one guy who hasn't seen the movie because his review of the reviewers contains a little too much alleged reviewing of the alleged movie that he hasn't seen. Confused? Don't be. You can be certain of one thing... The torture never stops.

The War on Zappadan

BDR points us to this "OH dear, a deliciously viscous Zappa takedown" at The Wire. I got a good chuckle out of it. It's actually a reprint from 1995, a 17 year old rant in D Minor. I'm not sure what he despises the most, modal declension or a Zappa fan describing modal declension in one of Frank's songs. Full disclosure: I have no fucking idea what modal declension is. I can't say I disagree with everything he rants about, but come on, he seems to despise Zappa fans as much as he despises Zappa and his music. I have never met a Zappa fan who likes every thing Zappa ever did. I've done some "Warts and All" Zappadan posts. I remember Mark Hoback a few years ago poking fun at the extreme mediocrity of the Zappa album "Studio Tan". But for every stinker Zappa ever wrote, and every musician has written their share of stinkers, there's a full bore Gumbo Variation.

Call Any Vegetable

With the passing of Dave Brubeck, Aaron did a little 6 Cosmic Debris of Zapparation, and look what he found for Brubeck/Zappa! Definitely worth checking out!

Mad Dog Media does Stairway to Heaven.

Urantian Sojourn always has top notch Zappa art, not to be missed.

 Darkblack has the goods.

Franktasia: John Jacob Dingleberry Shlitz

Zappadan 2012 kicks off in fine fashion, with Aaron offering up a remembrance of Motorhead, who died shortly after the end of last year's Zappadan.

Sandy Underpants gives us the latest in his series of tasteful nudes.

Darkblack gives us the Druid of Chrome.

I'm sure there are more of you out there celebrating. Drop us a line! I'm working on the sequel to 2010's Last of The Decal Liquors. The cartoon above is page 2 of "John Jacob Dingleberry Shlitz, His Name Is My Name, Too". I should be finished sometime in the Spring. The plot: Before the start of Carlos' animation entry, FRANKTASIA, in the Landlocked Film Festival, Junior tells Bob about how he met Tom, Tom's first days cooking in the restaurant, why Junior went to Colorado, faked his death, and why he has returned. Then Junior, Tom, and Bob go to the show, meet up with Carlos and all the TV and Movie people who have gone to see FRANKTASIA.

2012 Zappadan Eve Eve

That time of year again already? Time flies in 7/8 time...I'm currently working on the follow up to 2010's The Last of The Decal Liquors. I think TLOTDL was what, 32 pages? Too lazy to go look. This next one will end up in the 150 to 200 pages range, epic, like Double Album Live Bootleg Billy The Mountain Epic! It won't be done until next Spring, maybe sooner if I keep up the feverish pace, drawing like my hair is on fire. I'll have a few pages to share for the Frank Festivities, not to mention The Night of The Living Van Vliet party.
