The project I’m working on is “comic strips about comic strips”. A celebration, examination, and criticism of comic strips – everything that was, is, and probably will be regarding comic strips; everything that could have been, should be, and probably won’t be regarding comic strips. The plan is to create a “comics page” on the gallery wall, at least one day’s worth, preferably a week’s worth, including “Sundays”, complete with crossword puzzle, horoscopes, word jumble, etc. It depends on how many strips I want to make for one day, and can I make a week’s worth of those strips between now and May. Usually when I make paper out of junk mail, old Little Villages, etc, if any staples make it into the pulp, they tend to sink to the bottom of the vat. Every once in a while, a staple ends up in sheet. This sheet has a staple in the middle panel in the middle of the dead animal hair on top of Trump's head.

Large scale comic strip project -- India ink, watercolor, and acrylic paint on handmade paper. I'm redrawing the "Universal Piss Syndicate" strips on a much larger scale. The first ones fit into a lasagna noodle box, and I sold the set at the Chicago Zine Fest last Spring.

I'm working on a mini comic that I will intaglio print. The panels are being scratched into plastic,a "carpet protector", one of those things office chairs roll around on, that I bought at a thrift store and cut up into panels. Here are a couple of test prints, the best of the worst (the best of the best are still drying down at the Iowa City Press Co-op), to see what depth of scratching would get printed. The color print is from pork chop packaging styrofoam that I drew on with a ballpoint pen, then printed with acrylic paint, with added ballpoint pen to the print.
